Your Questions About Save Relationship Falling Apart

Maria asks…

My relationship is falling apart and I don’t know how to save it?

Me and my girlfriend have been together for nearly 6 months. We’ve grown attached because we have strong feelings for each other. We connect emotionally. But, the thing is that when it comes to the physical side of things, I just can’t initiate in it. I’m still working on my issues involving my aunt when I was 12 till I reached 16. 4 years I was tortured emotionally and physically to satisfy her sick fantasies. I havn’t spoken to my girlfriend about this because I’m not ready to let anyone know yet. This is my deepest secret and I’ll take it to the grave with me. When it comes to sex, my legs go weak my heart starts beating 1000 times per min, my stomach churns, and I get a deep feeling of panic. I make excuses as to why I can’t do it like I’m not ready yet etc.. But I am, I just want to love my girlfriend but I can’t.

My girlfriend is getting frustrated but she’s tolerant. I can see that she is willing to wait but she suspects something is wrong and she sounds like she is getting more and more annoyed everytime I lie to her. What can I do to save our relationship?

Lukes Love Life answers:

Look, your relationship is built on love and trust. Your girlfriend is going to get curious, and she might even ask other family members to find out the truth, and it’ll turn into a huge mess. You need to tell her. She’ll understand, and she’ll comfort you. If you love her, tell her.

Mandy asks…

Help! I am trying to save my long term relationship from falling apart. How?

My bf and I have been together for almost 3 years now.We are 8 years apart. We fell in love really fast.i know we love each other, but I feel like he is getting too comfortable. He is the older one in the relationship yet he is the one that kept breaking up with me on and off in the past. Our communication with each other is not that great because we always end up arguing. He used to always up and leave me by running out on me all the time, kept breaking up with me but he no longer does that. I know he is in this for the long haul as much as I am,but I just feel like he is starting not to care about what happens to us and my main concern is that he wants to do what is best for him and not for us. When it comes to me, I always think about what will be best for us in the future. He says he wants to marry me and we are at the stage in our relationship where he introduces me to everyone as his fiancee. I have no problem at all with that but why doesn’t he think about what is best for us and not just him? On top of everything, I am younger than him and I like to have sex all the time, he doesn’t and I hate that. It hurts my feelings sometimes because sometimes he is not up for it when I want it. I know he is not cheating because this is just coming from the way he is.But he gets it whenever he wants it. Bottom line is he doesnt run anything thru me and leaves me hangin all the time. I feel like I’m the one that has always been there for him and always had his back thru everything, but when something new pop up in his life like a new friend or a career opportunity he always leave me in the back burner. He is the type of person that has always had people come in and out of his life.I want to be there for him as much as I can but I don’t ever feel appreciated after. How do I make this relationship stronger?

Lukes Love Life answers:

Be a little more positive you didn’t even mention one nice thing about him.

Steven asks…

Is it possible to save the relationship when it seems to be falling apart?

We haven’t taked for two weeks already after a quarrel. He thinks it’s my fault, I think it’s his.
Do you know some way to make him not just come, but run back as fast as he can and never leave again?

Lukes Love Life answers:

2 weeks without talking is a long time. You didn’t say how long you two have been together. Not enough info. Here. Here’s a creative idea to express how you feel about each other. It might help to start a new beginning. Agree to write down 10 things you LIKE about each other. Then switch papers. Preferably with no distractions. Key word. New beginning. But you BOTH have to want it and work for it.

Chris asks…

My relationship is falling apart, what should I do?

In the past month my girlfriend and I have been fighting more and more. We used to get along really well, but now we have been dating for almost 2 months and we are starting to argue more. I really love her , and she is leaving for the armed forces at the end of the summer. I want to know what I need to do to save our relationship and get it back to the way it used to be. When we didn’t fight.

Lukes Love Life answers:

I’m sure things will work out just fine. You can start by listening to her and letting her know how much she means to you. Just give her the assurance that you love her and you will never do her wrong. Talk about how she feels about leaving. Remember that good things are hard to find and when you find one hold on with all that you have. Fighting is sometimes the only way for you to get to know each other better and to help your relationship grow.
